Working together to achieve a common goal: optimizing heat treatment for aluminium rolling ingots
Gautschi Engineering GmbH uses pusher furnaces to heat and homogenize its aluminium rolling ingots. The furnaces operate semi-continuously in a process that ensures the end products demonstrate the required mechanical and thermal properties. While the aluminium rolling ingots are being pushed through the furnace, the heat is transferred from the furnace heat sources to the aluminium. The impellers play a key role in this, ensuring that the rolling ingots are heated evenly and efficiently so that the heat treatment process is able to work as it should.

The quality of pusher furnaces as a whole has a significant impact on the homogeneity, mechanical properties, surface finish and chemical purity of the aluminium that is produced. Consequently, using high-quality components in these furnaces is a must. Our components – the impellers, which include shafts and inlet components – have been specially designed to meet the needs of Gautschi Engineering GmbH. To achieve this, they are made of heat-resistant steel that allows them to withstand extreme furnace temperatures of up to 650 degrees. High-quality aluminium rolling ingots create high-quality aluminium products, and these are then frequently used in demanding industries such as aviation and the automotive sector. Gautschi Engineering GmbH’s pusher furnaces are designed to handle up to 30 rolling ingots.
