Radial fan with belt drive
the core component of any ventilation system
Radial fans that deliver optimized performance are an indispensable part of ventilation systems. Radial fans with a belt drive are able to generate different levels of speed and thus improve performance over the short term. This makes it possible to work with a range of volumes or in different room sizes.
What’s more, radial fans with a belt drive are highly efficient and feature a long service life.
Standard performance date
Volume flow: Up to approx. 650,000 m³/h
Pressure increase: Up to approx. 25,000 Pa
Temperature: Up to approx. 500 °C
Alongside our standard portfolio, we also work with our customers to develop bespoke solutions.

What are the distinguishing features of radial fans with a belt drive?
Radial fans differ mostly from conventional fans in how the belt drive and intermediate shaft are arranged. They do not necessarily need a frequency converter. The fan and drive (motor) are decoupled, enabling low-resonance operation. Altogether, there are various factors and criteria that make radial fans with a belt drive a favourable option. These include:
- A range of series and performance parameters for needs-focused applications
- Scalable pressure change or increase
- Extraction or ventilation, depending on the application
- Straightforward commissioning process – with support if required
- Low-maintenance and efficient operation
Where are radial fans with a belt drive used?
In general, radial fans are used wherever specific or gaseous conveyed media need to be moved within a space. Radial fans with a belt drive, for their part, are ideal for operating situations or production processes that need to accommodate scalable performance parameters and short-term performance peaks. Key areas of application include:
- Industrial and production processes
- Laboratories, boiler rooms or areas containing hazardous materials
- Manufacturing workshops
What criteria should be used to select the right radial fan?
There is a whole range of designs and sizes to choose from when selecting a radial fan with a belt drive, depending on the function and power you are looking for. From a functional point of view, important selection criteria include the required or necessary efficiency, volume flow, power and speed, plus the fan’s pressure variation or temperature.
From a technical standpoint, the impeller diameter, width, blade curvature and casing position are significant factors. We are happy help you find the right solution for your specific operating processes.
Are there additional options available for radial fans with a belt drive?
There are various ways of counteracting premature wear when conveying abrasive media – that is, materials that cause friction or have an abrasive effect. If the plant handles explosive media or the fan is used in similarly hazardous areas, safety is ensured by a design that complies with the ATEX directive and features the relevant certification.
Additionally, selected sensor values (such as speed) are monitored, queried and evaluated during operation, enabling the operator to check and, if necessary, adjust the performance parameters.
What are the advantages of radial fans with a belt drive from Scheuch COMPONENTS?
By using quality-tested belts, Scheuch COMPONENTS has managed to extend the service intervals that our radial fans with a belt drive require. Moreover, in some cases the belt drives only need to be adjusted or set up once, eliminating the need for costly re-tensioning processes. As with our other fan designs, you can view our wide range of additional and safety equipment for radial fans here.
